what's in a name?

Ok, so I haven't been around for a while. Not much blogging, let alone looking at other people in 'Blogland'.
So when turning on the computer today and quickly peeking at everyone's blogs, I was mortified to discover that someone else has the name/brand Owlet and does the same sort of stuff that I was looking at creating. I went and checked out 'Owlets' bloggy stats and turns out she has been around a lot longer than I. So I think it is only fair that I change my name. *sigh* (i really liked the name too).

But what is in a name? And how am I to try and come up with an orignal name/branding? Help!! I'm stuck. Any ideas??

hmmm... maybe use something special in your life? My blog name and later business name came from a nickname my dad used to call me as a kid. Maybe something like that? Or put together 2 names of people you love, or a pet etc. Hope you find one soon, can't wait to see what you come up with!!

My blog name is also the nickname that my dad has used for me since the day I was born. I'm nearly 35 and he still calls me CurlyPops!
Do you have any old nicknames that were cool?

Morrie? Sorry! bwahaha!! hrm. guess you had to be there! (lol ;o) )

That is a bummer. I think I've seen the blog you're talking about. Could you keep the blog address but just change the name in your banner?

How is the new sewing room coming along?

*sneaks in sheepishly* Just wanted to say thanks. I understand the moment of mortification... I came across your blog a little while ago too and didn't really know what to do. I've been rather attached to owlet since using the name for a project many years ago at uni... I love your new name and new layout. Beautiful! xx
